LED Backlights Now Available in All LCD Modules for Medical Monitors
Hitachi Displays, Ltd. (President: Yoshiyuki Imoto, hereafter referred to as Hitachi Displays) now offers LED backlights in all IPS LCD modules for medical monitors. These modules use IPS-Pro technology that features improved brightness, contrast, and viewing angle. Using white LED backlights as the LCD light source improves product life and reduces power consumption.

Hitachi Displays, Ltd. (President: Yoshiyuki Imoto, hereafter referred to as Hitachi Displays) has now developed a high-intensity, high definition (HD: 720 x 1280) compatible TFT IPS LCD display that utilizes amorphous silicon TFTs and is for use in smartphones. Low-temperature poly silicon (LTPS) TFTs have been used for compact, high definition (HD: 720 x 1280)-compatible high-res TFTs hitherto, because production with amorphous silicon TFTs was problematic in terms of compatibility with the drivers – due to the increase in pixel quantity – and of ensuring the wiring area on the LCD panel.
