1. Introduction

In Japan, dry laminator was introduced in late 1960s and then polyurethane resin began to be used as laminating adhesive. Since it had high adhesion to wide range of substrates, it has shown a big growth since 1980.
As shown in Figure 1, amount of polyurethane resin production continues to increase through recent five years. However several changes have been observed in its application for food packagings :
