This steel belt casting system with unique functions was developed to meet the thickness uniformity and smoothness requirements demanded of high-precision/advanced films. Using a clean tenter device with a uniform temperature (max. 450ºC) and air speed profile as a post-film forming thermal treatment, the system is suited to the manufacture of high-value films and sheets.

This clean pilot coater/dryer developed based on years of results and experience with advanced coating systems meets the needs of the user. The machine is manufactured in line with the C5 concept essential to high-quality coating/drying being proposed by Techno Smart.

The digital coater is a newly developed coater head by Techno Smart that applies inkjet technology to coating. By applying inkjet to coating technology, advantages lie in contactless coating, digital control coating, closed coating, and compact coating, for example. These will naturally allow for coating in future printable electronics fields, but also for coating in the biotechnology and medical fields. Our Shiga plant has a permanent roll-to-roll test coater, which can be used for development, fluid evaluation, and coating tests.

There are various needs for thin-film and high-precision coating in various fields, such as optical applications and others. The high-precision coater Techno Smart developed to meet these needs uses a coating unit developed and investigated the high-precision of roller and bearing. Further, We have a permanent high-precision test coater in our Shiga Plant cleanroom, which can be used to confirm the performance of Techno Smart’s various high-precision die heads.

Using a multi-stage slit structure, the coater can realize simultaneous wet-on wet coat single or multiple layers. A vacuum structure comes standard, so coating at a sufficient gap clearance is possible. Our high-precision die processing technology and high-precision mounting technology, allows for a high-precision die coater using a cassette change method. Further, we can also produce special dies with internal structures that reflect the flow characteristics of the coating fluid.

Based on the extensive experience Techno Smart has with clean coaters, we developed this miniature coating/drying system for research and development purposes. Various high-performance coater heads can be chosen from the large variety of coater head variations, which can be exchanged using the cassette change mechanism depending on the application. Further, various dryer methods can be chosen from the dryer variations. A unique nozzle exchange system allows for the dryer method to be easily chosen to meet the application.
