Exhibitions
The history of exhibitions organized by the Converting Technical Institute (CTI) dates back several decades. In April 1987, CTI launched the first CMM JAPAN (Converting Machinery and Materials) exhibition at the Tokyo International Trade Fair in Harumi, Tokyo. The event was inspired by CMM International, which was held in Chicago, USA, at that time. From 1987 through 2007, the exhibition was held once every three years.
In 2004, CTI established the neo functional material exhibition, a trade show dedicated specifically to advanced materials and finished products. In 2008, CMM JAPAN was renamed Convertech Japan, and the event transitioned to an annual format. Over the years, CTI has launched several new exhibitions, adapting their themes and branding to reflect changes in industry needs and technological trends. Today, CTI concurrently hosts four specialized exhibitions: CONVERTECH, neo functional material, GREEN MATERIAL, and 3DECO tech.
Among these, neo functional material is particularly distinctive. Unlike many exhibitions held in other countries, it focuses specifically on advanced converting materials, functional materials, and related products. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to explore the high-performance films and advanced materials that Japan has developed through decades of manufacturing excellence. These materials are utilized across a wide range of industries, from flexible packaging to electronics, and represent technologies that are difficult to replicate elsewhere in the world.
