Outline:
Softal’s “Aldyne” atmospheric linear plasma surface treatment system generates plasma discharge in a mixed gas atmosphere having a base of nitrogen gas to bond the added gas molecules to the substrate surface. As such, high polarity, functional amide and amino groups are generated.
In addition, using the nature of these groups to readily form covalent bonds with the functional groups in the coating, it is possible to increase the strength of bonding between the substrate and coating.
