Generating a small amount of electricity from discarded wind turbine blades

Last December, the Japanese OFF-GRID DESIGN CONSORTIUM is collaborating with MAEDA CORPORATION, a consortium member that has partnered with Tripod Design, the consortium chair, to launch a regenerative power resource project. In this initiative, Micro Power Collection (MPC) technology is used to finely grind discarded wind turbine blades and utilize them as an electrolyte to generate a small amount of electricity. Because these blades were difficult to reuse, they posed a societal challenge in terms of CO2 emissions and disposal costs.
